CHESS boffins made strategic moves on Saturday at the uThungulu Rapids Open Rated Chess Tournament, as they tried to outwit and outplay their fellow opponents.
The tournament was hosted by the uMhlathuze Chess Club at the Arboretum Primary School hall, with Lynette Steyn being the tournament director.
This event saw all ages from U8 to adults competing, with trophies and prize money being awarded to the winners of the different categories.
