Laptop vs. Tablet

Which is the better choice, a laptop or a tablet?

WITH the increasing popularity of tablets saturating the current market, the question now remains whether to compliment your lifestyle with a laptop, or a pc.

To establish a victor, one has to establish the primary benefits of each of these devices.

First we’ll take a look at the pros and cons of each device:

Laptop Pros

· Full size QWERTY keyboard and touchpad

· Expandable RAM

· GPU for better handling of graphics

· Larger (LED) display

· Removable media drives

· Cooling components

· Overall performance

Laptop Cons

· Bulky & heavy

· Expensive

· Battery life

· (Generally) no touch screen support

Tablet Pros

· Lightweight & compact

· Good battery life

· Touchscreen

· (More) affordable

Tablet Cons

· Performance

· No physical QWERTY keyboard

· More fragile

As you’ve noticed, both devices are evenly balanced as the negative facets of either device are outweighed by its positive aspects. The best resolution to this question would be to investigate which device would best suit the larger purpose for which they’re to be used.

  1. Very basic article and should not be used as consumer advice. Yes, the above is correct, but one should also take in account the operating systems on the different platforms when looking to buy. Especially on the tablets. iOS vs Android. You can write pages on the pro’s and cons of these.
