KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Bheki Ntuli, inspected the installation of the modified Jersey barriers at the Mozambican border on Monday.

Part of government’s effort to curb cross-border crime between South Africa and Mozambique, as well as illegal immigration, Ntuli’s visit signalled the official beginning of construction of these concrete pillars which will cover a distance of 8km.
Ntuli engaged with stakeholders in the uMkhanyakude district, reassuring them of government’s commitment to curbing the scourge of vehicle theft and the movement of illicit goods.
