KING Cetshwayo District Mayor Nonhle Mkhulisi led a Covid-19 awareness campaign in Mthonjaneni Municipality this week to engage and educate community members on the pandemic.
The mayor was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Lindo Phungula and Chief Whip Thamsanqa Gcabashe, who conducted a walkabout at taxi ranks to ensure compliance with regulations and to hand over 100 litres of sanitiser.

This is part of an ongoing campaign and a coordinated effort by government to respond to the coronavirus and prevent further infections.
The district municipality also held its ‘command’ council meeting, chaired by MEC Bongi Sithole-Moloi, to interrogate among others the provision of water and other essential services during the 21-day nationwide lockdown.
The meeting, attended by local mayors and other municipal executive members in the district, further discussed public awareness campaigns on Covid-19 prevention, allocation of resources and care of the homeless, senior citizens and other vulnerable sectors of society.
