Another school burglary at Nqutshini
The perpetrators broke in by using a garden spade and fork to break the door; a laptop, one computer for the school principal as well as another computer screen were taken
ANGRY community members gathered at Nqutshini Primary School last Sunday morning after hearing that there had been another burglary at the school the previous evening.
According to SGB chairperson, S’yabonga Sibiya, some members together with the local induna were forced to attend the scene.
‘Even though we should stay at home during the lockdown period, we had to come and inspect the damage.

‘The perpetrators broke in by using a garden spade and fork to break the door; a laptop, one computer for the school principal as well as another computer screen were taken.
‘The school premises were vandalised and what worries me is that we are a no-fee school, meaning we don’t have money to replace what has been stolen,’said Sibiya.
King Cetshwayo District education head, Dr David Chonco said they are disappointed about the burglary incidents at schools especially during the lockdown when learners and educators are being kept at their homes.
‘We are expecting everyone to be at their houses, but people are up and down looting our schools during this period.
‘We appreciate that residents and the local inkosi are passionate about the school and we will meet with all stakeholders to come up with a plan as to how we are going to deal with this issue going forward.
‘Honestly, we won’t be able to tolerate this nonsense and today (Monday) I’m going to meet with SAPS about this issue,’said Dr Chonco.
