Unizulu upgrades learning system during lockdown
The system allows students access to content and engage with their lecturers remotely
THE University of Zululand (Unizulu) has upgraded its systems to ensure learning and teaching continue online during the current lockdown.
This comes as many tertiary institutions migrate their teaching to various digital platforms to allow students to access content and engage with their lecturers remotely while adhering to the regulations imposed to contain the spread of Covid-19.

Unizulu recently upgraded its learner management systems to Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (Moodle) 3.8, an online learning platform.
This will provide both academics and students with various functionalities that enhances the learning experience with various collaboration tools.
The Moodle mobile application can be downloaded from the Google Playstore for Android or the App Store for IOS in order for students to access it from any mobile device.
The institution is also engaging various telecommunication companies such as MTN, Vodacom and Telkom for zero-rating access.
This will enable a student to access Moodle and engage in teaching and learning without incurring any data costs.
