Empangeni cop ‘suicide’ questioned by family

According to family member Zandile Mawele, Constable Philangenkosi Gama was in high spirits on the day he went missing late last month

THE distraught family of an Empangeni Flying Squad member whose body was found in Farewell Road on Sunday are not convinced that his death was a suicide.

According to family member Zandile Mawele, Constable Philangenkosi Gama was in high spirits on the day he went missing late last month.

He was not seen or heard from since and, while the family tries to piece together his last movements, they said they trust police investigations would provide clarity.
