Security surety for animal welfare

SPCA gets a comprehensive security system after brazen burglary

A GENEROUS donation of security equipment to the Richards Bay SPCA will help to safeguard the animal welfare against future break-ins.

The contribution from Cable Wires Network Specialists followed news of a brazen burglary at the SPCA in November last year, where intruders stole the centre’s weekly takings as well as a bolt gun and lethal drugs used to euthanise animals.

A comprehensive security system, to the value of R4500, was commissioned and installed by the security company on Friday at no cost to the non-profit organisation.

‘We are extremely grateful to Quentin Wadmore and Jaune Grundlingh for setting up the security CCTV system for us,’ said Richards Bay SPCA Chairman Denis Botha.

‘This will really help us monitor all activities at the SPCA and avoid any further intrusions and criminal activities.’
