Road upgrade for Sokhulu community under way

KZN MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Bheki Ntuli, has appealed to communities to refrain from damaging and vandalising transport infrastructure during service delivery protests.

The project is expected to be completed next year in October.
The road will serve as a direct link between the N2 and the towns of Sokhulu and Intongonya.
‘I appeal to the community to ensure that there are no work stoppages, so that the project can be completed within the stipulated time.
‘The construction of roads and bridges in the province, particularly in rural parts of KwaZulu-Natal, remains the Department of Transport’s priority.
‘The department continues to work hard to improve connectivity so that citizens have access to schools and economic opportunities.
‘I urge the public to refrain from vandalising transport infrastructure when they have grievances pertaining to service delivery.’
