Protesting students dispersed in Richards Bay
Police disperse protesting students at Umfolozi College's Richtek Campus in Richards Bay on Monday morning
UMFOLOZI College’s Richtek Campus in Arboretum was closed today after violent student protest action.
Police were called in to disperse the angry and violent crowd and calm was restored by 10am as students were escorted from the facility to the Richards Bay CBD.
Along the route, students damaged road signs and also obstructed traffic by placing tree rubble and logs in Via Richardia road.
