EARLIER this morning (Saturday) Eskom announced there would be no loadshedding during the day.
Owing to the constrained and vulnerable system, however, there is a limited risk loadshedding may be implemented tonight and tomorrow.
The suspension to loadshedding comes after the sufficient replenishment of Eskom’s pumped storage schemes and continued work on improving the diesel levels at its open cycle gas turbine generators.
‘Owing to inadequate maintenance over a number of years, the system remains vulnerable to unplanned outages and breakdowns, which are at 13 027MW as at 6:30 this morning’, said Eskom.
