Richards Bay must dig deep
In nine games since then they have only managed one win and two draws, which means six costly lost games during a dismal results performance – but not necessarily due to poor playing on the field
AFTER a positive start to the 2019/2020 GladAfrica NFD Championship, which saw them sitting near the top for two months, Richards Bay FC’s fortunes have slumped and they will need some serious improvement to avoid the relegation zone.
They won three and drew three of their first six matches but started falling behind in mid-October.
In nine games since then they have only managed one win and two draws, which means six costly lost games during a dismal results performance – but not necessarily due to poor playing on the field.

Four losses were by a single goal and each time the NRB boys had been dominant but without the goals to show for it.
There is certainly no lack of desire and belief and I reckon fans will see the improvement as the second half of the season gets under way with no fewer than four fixtures in January.
This needs to be the case to reverse the current trend of dwindling spectator support.

The matches looming are:
• 4 January vs Free State Stars (away)
• 10 January vs Cape Umoya United (away)
• 19 January vs uThongathi (home)
• 26 January vs Tshakhuma (home).
