THE festive season has started with a bang and Zululanders are fed up with the raucous public parties and litter that the holidays bring.

Empangeni and Richards Bay residents have taken to various social media platforms, condemning the apparent lack of action taken against ‘litter louts’ and public drinking, with some instituting a service delivery petition.
This reaction was in the wake of the long weekend, which left parts of the Empangeni CBD and the Alkantstrand area in Richards Bay looking like a rubbish dump.
