New shoes for underprivileged learners
A campaign to provide low-cost school shoes to impoverished learners was kick-started in Mtubatuba
ABOUT 500 underprivileged Mtubatuba schoolchildren are the proud owners of new school shoes for the start of the new academic year.
At a ceremony held by Hope School Shoes earlier this month, the learners of eight primary schools were each handed their shoe boxes.
Launched by Mzamo Zwane, who grew up in Mtubatuba, the Hope for School Shoes campaign aims to give dignity and hope to needy learners by manufacturing and supplying them with low-cost school shoes.
The donation to the Mtubatuba learners kick-started the campaign, which will be rolled out across the country.
Among the schools whose learners benefitted were Machwetshana Primary, Msizi Primary, Hambangomthetho Primary, Bhekumusa Lower Primary, Isphambano Primary, Ntiliki Primary, Mpukunyoni Primary and Isgcino Primary.
