THE Inkanyezi Regional Court in eShowe on Thursday handed down a maximum life sentence to Bonguthando Nqobizitha Shange (45) for raping his 12-year-old daughter.
On the day of the rape in October last year, the accused sent his wife to do shopping.
While she was away, Shange called his daughter, who was playing with her siblings, and raped her in the house.
The victim reported the incident to her mother while returning from church the next day.
They went to the Mbongolwane police station to open a rape case and Shange was arrested two days later.
