Online licensing system launched in Mthonjaneni
This new programme will help to provide a uniform and standardised licensing, permitting and registration system throughout the entire province,' said Maphi
THE Business Regulations Unit under the Department of Economic development and Tourism and Environment Affairs together with Mthonjaneni Municipality hosted an automated business licensing information session to potential business people of Mthonjaneni last Wednesday.
The main aim of the session was to introduce the new business online registration system which has been approved by provincial MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube. Mthonjaneni Municipality Local Economic Development (LED) Officer, Maphi Vilakazi, said that the online business licensing system will play a vital role in reducing backlogs such as the issuing of licences and permits, and the registration process as a whole.
‘This new programme will help to provide a uniform and standardised licensing, permitting and registration system throughout the entire province,’ said Maphi.
Local businessman, Sizwe Buthelezi was delighted about the new registration system.’We accept the new system with open arms as it will help us get our licence easier without standing in long queues in the registration offices. We will now be able to get it while we are sitting in our homes or in our offices using computers and cell phones,’ he said.
