Local rider to hit the Roof
eShowe enduro rider Dylan Jones is setting his sights on his first Roof Of Africa race in Lesotho at the beginning of December
ESHOWE enduro rider Dylan Jones is setting his sights on his first Roof Of Africa race in Lesotho at the beginning of December.
The 16-year-old rider will be competing in the Silver Class.
To fulfil this dream he is putting in plenty of hard work preparing for the gruelling three days of hard riding.
Dylan competed in the bronze qualifier in May and finished seventh out of 300 riders.
He will be racing the Roof on the recently released KTM 150 TPI.
At the weekend he participated in the Impi Hard Enduro at Rorke’s Drift, where he finished ninth overall in the Gold Class.
To grow the sport in eShowe, he has started a junior academy training group to assist junior riders.
He hopes this will improve the standard of the local junior riders and also give them riding opportunities.
The academy is also funding his racing.
Dylan is aiming high and is hoping to become involved in international races next year.
If there are any sponsors who are willing to assist, they can contact him on 076 8623070 or on email at sagewise1031@gmail.com.
