Crime alert in Brackenham
Last week several burglaries were reported and household items, camping chairs and clothing were stolen
A SERIES of residential burglaries in Brackenham have prompted the police, Brackenham Community Policing Forum (CPF) and community crime organisation, Brackenham Community Crime Watch (BCCW), to warn the community to sharpen their efforts to protect their properties and vehicles in the suburb.
Last week several burglaries were reported and household items, camping chairs and clothing were stolen.
A suspect, in possession of suspected stolen property, was apprehended and the items were retrieved on Tuesday.
BCCW and the CPF believe that some of the house burglaries and thefts from premises are being perpetrated by members living within the area.
Richards Bay SAPS Communications Officer, Captain Debbie Ferriera, encouraged community members to secure their premises and ensure no valuables are left outside the property which criminals can target.
