KWADUKUZA detectives, together with Umhlali K9 Search and Rescue, the Ilembe Task Team and Hawks successfully tracked and arrested two suspects wanted for kidnapping a Dawnview Primary School pupil.
Amahle Mthimkhulu (8), was abducted last Wednesday outside her school while waiting for transport to take her home.
The suspects, aged 26 and 30, were arrested at a Durban mall after a two-day long search.
They briefly appeared in KwaDukuza Magistrate’s Court on Monday and were remanded in police custody.
The victim’s mother, Mbali Mzimela (30), said she was overwhelmed by the dedication displayed by police and other stakeholders to locate her abducted daughter.
‘I ‘m out of words. I don’t know how to thank everybody. Only God knows how my heart is skipping because of the work they did in finding my daughter. Thanks to everyone who also participated in spreading the news and searching for her,’ she said.
