
THE uncle of Bafana Bafana star, Siyabonga Sangweni remains in a critical condition at Ngwelezana Hospital after sustaining a bullet wound to his neck last Friday.
Vusimuzi Sangweni was allegedly shot by his nephew, Mandlakayisa Sangweni at his house in the KwaMbonambi area.
KwaMbonambi police spokesperson Lt Aubrey Msane confirmed Mandlakayise’s arrest, adding that he appeared in Ngwelezane Magistrate’s Court for a formal bail hearing on Monday.
Mandlakayise was granted R4 000 bail on condition he move to Gauteng with his star brother, until the trial begins on 18 February.
He was warned to return to KwaZulu-Natal for the court case.

Sangweni shooting suspect in court
IN a suspected family feud, a young man charged with attempted murder appeared in the Ngwelezane Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Mandlakayise Sangweni was arrested on Friday for allegedly shooting 66-year-old Vusumuzi Sangweni, uncle of Bafana Bafana star Siyabonga Sangweni.
After sustaining injury to his neck, the older Sangweni was then rushed to hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Mandlakayise was arrested by KwaMbonambi police shortly after the incident, and was charged with attempted murder and being in possession of an unlawful firearm.
According to the police, the duo had a squabble before the attack, leading to the uncle being shot in the neck.
The case was remanded to 2 January for a formal bail hearing.
