Big beer fest bash in Richards Bay

Presented by Ritchie Motors, the event will see an impressive line-up of live bands take to the stage as festival-goers enjoy traditional German food and an array of craft beers

THE halls will be decked out in banners of red, black and yellow and live music will keep things rocking at the Beer Fest 2019 event at the Zululand Yacht Club in Richards Bay on Saturday, 26 October.

Presented by Ritchie Motors, the event will see an impressive line-up of live bands take to the stage as festival-goers enjoy traditional German food and an array of craft beers.

Craft brewers will be travelling from around the country to bring their brews to the festival, but those who aren’t beer drinkers will be happy to hear that they will be catered for with cider on tap and gin and wine bars.

The impressive line-up of musicians will include The Serretones, John Ellis, Steve Reynolds and Take 2.

Views are certainly going to be breathtaking for the festival-goers as they sample craft beer, wine, cider and gin while listening to live music at the Zululand Yacht Club

Children (free entry to those U12) will be taken care of in a kiddies’ corner, and the ZYC kitchen and food stalls will be bustling.

So pull out your ‘lederhosen’, brush up on your German – greet festival-goers with ‘Guten Tag!’ (good day) and get into a festive spirit.

Tickets and logistics

Almost all of the 150 VIP tickets have been sold, and there are only a limited number left.

These tickets cost R250 per person and include entry, a beer mug, a complimentary shooter and shooter glass, as well as a full German dinner of traditional eisbein, sauerkraut and potatoes.

Regular access tickets cost R170 per person and include entry, a beer mug, a complimentary shooter and shooter glass.

The event kicks off at midday. To book tickets while they are still available, call the ZYC on 035 7880256 or email admin@zyc.co.za.

Headline sponsor Ritchie Auto will be displaying vehicles at the event, and will offer an emergency park and ride service to festival-goers within Richards Bay.

This will allow attendees to travel to the festival, and then (as available) take advantage of a shuttle service to their homes in central Richards Bay while parking their vehicles safely at the yacht club overnight.
