Public warned against circulating pornography

MEC for Social Development, Nonhlanhla Khoza has urged members of the public to report to the police anyone who distributes pornography.
Khoza’s reaction comes after a video showing a male adult at Hluhluwe sexually assaulting a learner in full school uniform, was circulated in public.
‘This video has sent shock waves to all of us and has raised concerns about the safety of our children.
‘We are very concerned about the extent of sexual violence and vicious attacks directed at children,’ she said.
Khoza said they were grateful that the perpetrator has been arrested.
‘We hope the law will take its course and rid the society of these monsters.
‘As the department, we are always making a clarion call for our communities not to allow their children to suffer such an abuse. I urge those who might have laid their hands on this video, to stop circulating it and delete it.
‘We call upon all stakeholders to unite and stand against any form of children abuse, which is a growing problem in this province,’ she said.
uMkhanyakude cluster police spokesperson, Captain Jabulani Mdletshe, said the suspect was arrested and appeared in the Hluhluwe Magistrate’s Court for sexual assault last Monday.
