EIGHT Veldenvlei Primary School learners participated in the ATKV Spellathon regional finals.
Shana Phyfer won the Afrikaans Home Language category and Nadia Harmse claimed third place.
Awande Sithole was second in the Afrikaans First Additional Language category.
Both Shana and Awande will take part in the national round of the competition, to be held in Bloemfontein later in the year.
