A man was found on the side of the road in Empangeni with blood pouring from head and arm wounds.
He was allegedly mugged at the intersection of Nkwananzi Street and Frank Bull Road.
Medics were on the scene and the victim was taken to hospital.
The man is believed to be from Cape Town and was visiting Empangeni in search of work.
