Adopt a pet from the SPCA

Anyone wanting to adopt one can contact the SPCA on 035 7532086, or visit them at their premises in Bayview Boulevard, Meerensee

THERE are many beautiful, gentle and loving dogs and cats, puppies and kittens up for adoption at the Richards Bay SPCA.

So, why not consider adopting your next pet rather than shopping for one?

Anyone wanting to adopt one can contact the SPCA on 035 7532086, or visit them at their premises in Bayview Boulevard, Meerensee.

A strict adoption procedure applies.

Prospective owners must complete an adoption application form, after which SPCA inspectors undertake a property inspection.

This little Maltese poodle was recently brought in to the SPCA as a stray. He has a lovely personality and would make an excellent family pet.
He can be found in kennel B5

Adoption fees apply.

This is a once-off fee which includes vaccinations, de-worming and sterilisation (if older than six months) and given an SPCA identification tag.

‘I want to thank the public for all the support they are giving us, from volunteers helping to spruce up our premises, to food donations and donations of items we can sell in our shops,’ said Richards Bay SPCA Chairperson, Anna-Mare Coetzee.

‘Without the public’s help, we cannot carry out our services.

This adult male Husky was picked up as a stray. He has not been claimed and is ready to be adopted. Typically vocal and active like any Husky, this boy would fit in very well in a loving, family home where he would get lots of love and attention.
He is in kennel C5

‘We also want to thank those animal lovers who have chosen to adopt dogs and cats from the SPCA, for giving these animals another chance at a loving home.’

Donations in any form, whether cash, food or goods to sell, are always welcome.

Blankets, especially now that it is winter, toys for the animals to play with, and bowls are also much appreciated.

These kittens are a mixture of colours. There are both male and females and they are all about seven weeks old.
They are in kennel N1

Puppy and kitten food is very welcome owing to the number of puppies and kittens in the SPCA’s care.

‘We would also like to ask if anyone has any old collars and leads, to please consider donating these items to us, as they are very handy when we pick up stray dogs.’
