Teen’s pocket money put to good use

He saved most of his school lunch money for over a year to enable him to do the good deed

Making a difference in his community is a priority for Sthembiso ‘Cthe-K’ Khumalo (16).

On Saturday he donated a new wheelchair to a disabled woman, Sebenzile Cele (42) in Mzingazi area.

He saved most of his school lunch money for over a year to enable him to do the good deed.

‘I was taught to always help those less fortunate and after I heard her story I wanted to assist.

‘I raised R 600 from other individuals who also wanted to make a difference. The aim was to improve her life and do something positive in our community,’ said Sthembiso.

There were tears of joy when Sebenzile received her wheelchair, which will greatly improve her mobility.

She has been bed-ridden since birth and lives with her elderly and frail mother.
