Here are some fun events to choose from

IF you want to get out of the house this weekend but are stuck for something to do, here are some of the goings-on in Empangeni and Richards Bay.

Friday from 4.30pm – Pop in at 8 Kerk Street in Empangeni and support the NG Church bazaar. Indulge in some delicious homemade chicken pies, soup, potjiekos and curry and rice, and don’t leave without tasting the mouth-watering puddings, ginger beer and cakes. Pancakes, jaffles, bric-a-brac, a ‘spookhuis’ for the kids and all the fun elements that make up a traditional church bazaar will also be on offer

Friday from 7 pm – Daniel Hoffman will launch his latest CD at a gig at Arboretum Primary School. Tickets cost R100 for adults and R50 for children under eight years old. Pack a picnic basket, bring drinks and enjoy an evening of music and dancing. Country legend Tommy Dell and singer/actress Liane Heyl will also be performing.

Saturday from 7 am – The annual Boardwalkathon will be held on Saturday between 7 am and noon. There will be a 2km, 4km and 8km walk/run and anyone, regardless of age or fitness level, is encouraged to enter this event for a worthy cause. Registration is from 7 am to 8.30am on Saturday and the events start at 9 am.
