Shine your light on an amazing businesswoman
Acknowledging local women who are doing extraordinary things in the business arena, the prestigious awards ceremony will be held on Friday, 4 October at the Umfolozi Casino Resort in Empangeni

NOMINATIONS for the annual Businesswomen’s Association (BWA) Zululand Regional Achievers’ Awards are officially open.
Acknowledging local women who are doing extraordinary things in the business arena, the prestigious awards ceremony will be held on Friday, 4 October at the Umfolozi Casino Resort in Empangeni.
This year, BWA Zululand has added two new exciting categories namely Environmental Entrepreneur of the Year and the Most Innovative Business of the Year.
‘These new categories will shine the light on enterprising women, who have been able to run environmentally-friendly businesses, champion conservation or thrive in the recycling or alternative renewable energy markets,’ said BWA Zululand Chairperson Ronelle Ramsamy.
‘The Most Innovative Business of the Year award is to salute the innovative and resourceful woman, who has gone beyond the conventional, to come up with an original business model that works and creates employment,’ said Ramsamy.
The other five categories include Professional Woman of the Year, Corporate Woman of the Year, Social Entrepreneur of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year and the Women in Government Award.
Under the theme, ‘Leading with integrity’, Zululanders are invited to nominate successful women who emulate this important trait at a time when the country is largely plagued by corruption and mismanagement in all spheres.
Recognising excellence in the corporate, professional, government and social arena, the regional awards celebrate the phenomenal businesswomen who are making a difference in their communities and helping to grow the local economy.
Those who have displayed outstanding ability and courage to establish their own business as well as possess the necessary skills to operate these businesses successfully will also be acknowledged.
Nominations for the regional awards close at the end of July before final judging gets under way.
The BWA is the largest association of business and professional women in South Africa.
