KwaDukuza Municipality open for business

This assurance was given by Communications and Knowledge Management Officer, Siphelelo Ngobese

KWADUKUZA Municipality has resumed operations following last week’s community unrest which affected the municipality’s services.

This assurance was given by Communications and Knowledge Management Officer, Siphelelo Ngobese.

During the unrest, discontented protesters ended up closing all government offices and precincts.

‘Realising the volatility of the situation and considering the safety of patrons and staff, the municipal manager took a decision to temporarily close the municipality’s central business district offices.

‘Services interrupted included refuse removal and utility bill collection, and motor licensing and testing,’ Ngobese said.

Ngobese said the municipality was pleased to inform its residents that all its offices were open and fully operational.

‘The Community Services Business Unit is hard at work cleaning the town and collect refuse, which should be completed by the end of the week.
