Borans beat the odds

Other commercial breeds will also come under the hammer at the auction, which starts at 11 am.

THE cattle sale at the Hluhluwe Sales Yard on Thursday, 6 June will feature 170 Boran, Nguni and Simbra weaners belonging to Nick Louw.
These breeds are proving to be highly successful in the region, with Boran cross breeds calving at three years and becoming fertile every 320 days.
With this turnaround time, the herd increases exponentially, providing an excellent return on investment.
The Boran breed has proven its worth, even during the low rainfall periods experienced in the area over the last few years.
Other commercial breeds will also come under the hammer at the auction, which starts at 11 am.
