
EMPANGENI police are on the hunt for a scammer who allegedly lured a prospective car buyer to a service station before robbing him of thousands of rands.
According to a police report, an Empangeni man responded to an advert for a car for sale and was asked to meet the seller at the One Stop service station close to the N2.
Shortly after the victim arrived, the seller took the R18 500 cash from the buyer, but then fled leaving the victim stranded.
A case of robbery was opened at Empangeni SAPS last Wednesday.
