NONGOMA police have launched a manhunt for three suspects who killed a 44-year-old man, leaving his two wives injured in the Ejikeni area on Saturday night.

According to reports the deceased, Mbongiseni Mahlinza, was travelling along Dabhazi Road with his two wives and son, when the attack took place.

Zululand Police Cluster spokesperson, Captain Nkosie Gwala, said a case of murder and two cases of attempted murder have been opened.

‘While en route, the family’s vehicle was overtaken by a VW sedan. The deceased moved to the left to give space to the overtaking vehicle.

‘Mahlinza lost control of his vehicle and it veered off the road. The deceased’s son managed to escape and hid a few metres away from the scene.

‘The three suspects alighted from their vehicle and shot the victim 14 times. Both wives also sustained gunshot wounds.
