Election day road fatality in Mtubatuba
IFP PR councillor Moonsamy Govender sent his condolences to the relatives and the party for the loss of its member
MTUBA SAPS have opened a case of culpable homicide after an IFP member was tragically killed in a car accident.
According to police records, the accident took place on the R618 between St Lucia and Mtubatuba.
‘It is alleged that IFP members were visiting voting stations and travelling from eZwenelisha towards Mtubatuba when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road,’ said Mtubatuba SAPS Communication Officer Captain Justice Hlabisa.
‘Of the six passengers, one was declared deceased on scene while the others were taken to various hospitals for treatment.’
