Man suspected of killing Empangeni traditional healer nabbed

EMPANGENI police arrested a suspect in the Empangeni CBD last week in connection with the murder of a traditional healer, Zinja Sibiya, in December.

Sibiya, of Mkhandlini Reserve, was travelling in a taxi to Empangeni, when gunmen opened fire on him.

Two suspects told the taxi driver that they wanted to get off. When the taxi stopped they shot Sibiya in his upper body and fled. Sibiya was declared dead on the scene.

King Cetshwayo police spokesperson, Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose, said the suspect had appeared in the Empangeni Magistrate’s Court for a formal bail application.
