The R6.8-million, 6.5km access road construction in Noziphiva area begins

During last year's integrated development plan roadshow in the area, Biyela committed himself to ensure the access road would be built

MTHONJANENI Mayor Sibonginkosi Biyela last week officiated at a sod turning ceremony to mark the construction of a R6.8-million, 6.5km access road in the Noziphiva area under the Ubuka Traditional Authority.

During last year’s integrated development plan roadshow in the area, Biyela committed himself to ensure the access road would be built.

‘This road will change lives and bring relief to residents, who have been struggling and travelling long distances to reach the main road for transportation,’ said Biyela.

He also urged residents to protect and safeguard the equipment of the independent contractor.

‘I hope the construction process will not be hindered by any protests. I therefore urge the community of this area to work hand-in-hand with the contractor to ensure that the road is completed on time.

‘This project will also create job opportunities for local residents, especially the unemployed youth,’ said Biyela.
