GOING to bed hoping for pleasant dreams soon turned into a nightmare for a Matshana family in the early hours of Wednesday morning when they were held at gunpoint while their 22-year-old daughter was raped across the hall.
The father woke to find two men standing in their bedroom. He and his wife were threatened with a firearm, told to lie down on the floor and not look up.
One of the men walked across the hall where he raped their daughter, while the remaining suspect demanded money, cell phones and bank cards from the parents.
According to the police report the man who raped the young woman had placed a pillow over his face, hiding his identity.
‘This behaviour suggests he could possibly be a wanted suspect,’ said Empangeni SAPS spokesperson Captain Mbongeni Mdlalose.
The parents had to listen to their daughter’s cries and screams for help, but were powerless to intervene.
Once the men had retrieved the possessions they fled the scene.

I remember one of my first cases in the Emapngeni area as an Advanced Life support Paramedic in December 1995 was in the Matshana reserve where 4 “Tsotsi” had been wreaking havoc on the local community and had been committing Murders, rapes and armed robberies within the Matshana area and one Saturday morning the community decided enough was enough and lets just say these Tsotsi’s were found nailed to tree’s at each entrance to the area’s and had been excecuted before being nailed there. THAT is something these guys obviously never heard of … or the community seem to have forgotten…
This is a very terrible attack. The people who did this must be kept in Jail for ever. So they can learn from their mistakes.
Sihlanziwe, they shouldn’t be left in jail…they get fed in jail, and they even get warm blankets and mattresses to sleep on. They should find them and cut their knickers off and his hands… so every he needs to take a whizz…he’ll p^ss himself and be reminded of the horrible thing he did!
