Mystery surrounds Richards Bay murder

A 23-YEAR-OLD Brackenham man is believed to have shot and killed his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself on Sunday evening.

Richards Bay police are investigating a murder after an inquest docket was opened.

Details remain sketchy at this stage.

Police have confirmed that a young woman was shot at a residence in Brackeham after 7pm and it is alleged the gunman left the scene and went to the Nseleni bridge where he shot himself.

The motive is still unknown at this stage.
