Registration deadline for matric exam rewrite
Learners wanting to rewrite their matric exams have been given until Thursday to register at the local district Department of Education offices or online

This examination is intended for learners who have not completed their matric, who want to improve their results and write a supplementary examination, as well as those who failed their matric.
‘We want to encourage all those who qualify to take advantage of this opportunity to attain a matric certificate which could be the gateway to a better life,’ the Department of Basic Education said in a statement.
Learners can also visit the department’s website and click on the link to register for the amended senior certificate examinations at the bottom of the home page.
‘This will link learners to an online registration portal. There are a number of online resources at the disposal of learners to assist with their studies and give them the best possible chance of success,’ the department said.
The DBE’s 2017/18 annual report indicated that 5 635 learners achieved a National Senior Certificate after writing supplementary examinations.
More than 12 000 candidates achieved subject passes towards the amended senior certificate.
