Big boost for Grantham Park sport
The 22-year-old Port Shepstone goalkeeper has a higher certificate in architecture and will be heavily involved in the school's hockey, cricket and athletics, as well as helping out in the classroom
GRANTHAM Park Primary School scored big time when landing the expertise of current South African Country Districts (SACD) hockey player Marozaan Pretorius as an assistant teacher for 2019.
The 22-year-old Port Shepstone goalkeeper has a higher certificate in architecture and will be heavily involved in the school’s hockey, cricket and athletics, as well as helping out in the classroom.
She hopes to help improve the overall standard of sport and motivate the children.
She is currently studying education through UNISA and aims at making the SACD hockey side again this year.
In hockey Pretorius has played for Port Shepstone (2010-2018), KZNCD (2015-2018) and SACD (2017-2018), played action cricket and completed the Lake Eland mile and Midmar mile (2014-2018), in which she won silver and bronze medals over the years.
‘I am excited to be here and am looking forward to the challenges,’ said Pretorius.
‘If I can make a difference in just one child or aid a pupil to excel and do better, then I know I have achieved my ultimate goal.’
