There are many dogs and cats up for adoption at Richards Bay SPCA

THERE are just some beautiful dogs and cats, puppies and kittens up for adoption at the Richards Bay SPCA.

Anyone wanting to adopt one can contact the SPCA on 035 7532086, or visit them at their premises in Bayview Boulevard, Meerensee.

A strict adoption procedure applies.

Prospective owners must complete an adoption application form, after which SPCA inspectors undertake a property inspection.

This young female cross-breed was surrendered to the Richards Bay SPCA. She is about six months old, is very lively and playful and would make an excellent family pet

Adoption fees apply.

This is a once-off fee which includes your new pet’s first 5-in-1 vaccination, a rabies vaccination, it will be de-wormed, sterilised (if older than six months) and given a SPCA identification tag.

For pets adopted at younger than six months of age, a sterilisation contract applies.

The SPCA is always in need of donations, whether food, money or items that can be sold in their shops on the monthly market days.

This cross-breed is about four months old and was brought in to the SPCA as a stray.
With a gentle and loving nature, this dog would make an ideal family pet

Their food store is running very low on food and, in the midst of breeding, they are experiencing a high volume of stray and unwanted puppies and kittens coming through the gates.

‘Those who would like to donate food are asked to please donate soft food for puppies and kittens,’ said SPCA Vice Chairperson, Elizabeth Cordiglia.

This young kitten is about four months old and was recently brought in to the Richards Bay SPCA after it was suspected to have been hit by a car. Without any serious injuries, the kitten made a full recovery and is now up for adoption

‘Puppies and kittens are unable to chew, so we really need soft food.’

Anyone that wants to donate can take their items to the SPCA premises.
