KZN blood stocks critical – only one day supply available

Blood supply in the province is at a dangerous low, with only a day’s stock available now (today).

The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is calling on all new and regular donors to visit the nearest centre as soon as possible to donate blood and boost supplies to the required stocks of 5 000 units or five days’ stock on hand.

SANBS confirmed on Tuesday afternoon their blood supply can only last for 24 hours and local donors are urged to visit the Richards Bay Blood Donor Centre at the Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Centre to donate.
