Qadasi is an accomplished maskandi musician who developed a deep passion for Zulu culture and music at a young age growing up in the heart of Zululand
EMPANGENI maskandi muso David ‘Qadasi’ Jenkins has been nominated for the South African Music Award (SAMA) in the traditional music category.
The local man received his nomination for his solo album Uhambo Olusha and collaborative album Lashis Ilanga, which was recorded along with his close friend and co-musician Maqhinga Radebe.
Qadasi is an accomplished maskandi musician who developed a deep passion for Zulu culture and music at a young age growing up in the heart of Zululand.

Over the past several years, he has achieved a great deal as a South African artist, with some of his feats including performances in the USA, UK, Ireland and Asia, and a performance at the 2015 SAMA Awards live show.
Apart from promoting Zulu culture, traditional music and social cohesion, Qadasi has been involved in rhino conservation, working alongside the Kingsley Holgate Foundation and Project Rhino KZN as Rhino Art Ambassadors.
