Breast cancer awareness event

The annual event shows support, inspire and encourage patients in their fight against cancer and educate others on the importance of early detection

WITH October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Oncologist Dr Smitha Abraham honoured patients and survivors at the Richards Bay Medical Institute last week.

The annual event shows support, inspire and encourage patients in their fight against cancer and educate others on the importance of early detection.

‘Breast cancer does not kill if you catch it early. Early detection saves lives,’ said Dr Abraham.

Patients also got to share their journey through breast cancer treatment and were educated on the surgical aspects of therapy.
