Eshowe SAPS treat the elderly

CASUAL Day was celebrated in style last week at Ntumeni Day Centre, when eShowe SAPS treated elderly citizens with goodies.
The centre accommodates seniors who have been deserted by their family members, and those who are homeless.
The SAPS members were joined by Employee Health Workers, Victim Support Centre and Rainbow Circle staff members, who all showered the esteemed oldies with gifts.

Local SAPS spokesperson, Constable Zama Magwaza, said her team, led by Station Commander Colonel Mdletshe, saw it fit to spend their Casual Day at the centre.
‘Our main aim was to show them love and care and we listened to their pleas and challenges.
‘We also gave them crime prevention tips and encouraged them to report whatever challenges they came across.
‘We wanted them to make them feel important, as we understand that they hardly get visitors. We treated them with delicious food, and gifts such as coffee mugs and whistles to use when they feel that their lives are in danger,’ she said.
