High number of lightning deaths a great concern

TWELVE people have lost their lives in lighting strikes in the Ngoyameni area in Ingwavuma since the beginning of the year.
Earlier this month a 12-year-old boy, Thulebona Mngomezulu, became the latest casualty when he was struck by lighting at his home.

Two cows were also killed in the incident.
Jozini Municipal Speaker Lindiwe Ntshangase-Gumbi, who attended a prayer day held last week at the Free Evangelical Church, expressed concern over the high number of deaths as a result of lightning strikes.
‘We saw it fit to ask for divine intervention. In the meantime we have been proactive in assisting families to bury their loved ones.’
