Two drowned learners laid to rest

Ayanda Dlamini and Ntokozo Khumalo were laid to rest on Saturday

TWO Bhekuzulu Primary School learners who drowned in a dam last week were laid to rest in Vryheid at the weekend.

Grade 3 learner Ayanda Dlamini and Ntokozo Khumalo, who was in Grade 6, were laid to rest at Bhekuzulu Hall on Saturday.

The pair had allegedly been searching for recyclable material near a dumpsite which is located near a dam when the incident happened.

It is alleged that the drowning was witnessed by a girl, who alerted nearby security personnel.

They summoned further help and the lifeless bodies of the two boys were later recovered.

The little girl who witnessed the tragic ordeal is receiving professional counselling.
