Free breast exams for Women’s Day

'Breast cancer is something that is treatable and has a good prognosis if diagnosed early and treated.' says Dr Naidoo

MELOMED Private Hospital’s Dr Natasha Naidoo will conduct a breast cancer awareness drive at the hospital for Women’s Day.

The initiative aims to educate women on how to conduct breast self-examination and also to encourage regular clinical breast examinations by a surgeon.

‘There is an increase in the incidence of breast cancer among South African women. It is one of the most common cancers,’ says Dr Naidoo.

‘It is the most prevalent cancer amongst white and Asian women and the second most common cancer among black and coloured women.
