THEFT of vehicle tyres and rims in Brackenham is back in the spotlight after a resident in Fish Tail street became the latest victim.
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, criminals stripped one of three vehicles parked behind locked gates of its tyres and rims and stole the battery from another.

‘We have had a major problem with thefts of tyres and rims since last year and encourage community members to remain cautious and add extra safety measures wherever they can.
‘Despite the efforts of the Brackenham CPF and our Brackenham Community Crime Watch patrols, crime is still rife and we need residents to establish their own neighbourhood patrols in an attempt to bring down the crime levels.
‘At our community crime meeting last week, we received an average turnout and believe more residents should get involved to address the problems.
‘Incidents of house robberies have also surfaced in recent months and community members need to take their safety serious and ensure their premises are well secured and gates or doors are kept locked at all times,’ said Govender.
