John Ross hit and run

Police on scene indicated that they believe the man was hit by a vehicle on Sunday night or in the early hours of Monday morning

THE MANGLED body of a man, believed to be in his thirties, was found next to the John Ross Highway on Monday morning.

According to reports, approximately 7am police received information of a body that was lying next to highway about one kilometre before the Mondi intersection east bound.

Police on scene indicated that they believe the man was hit by a vehicle on Sunday night or in the early hours of Monday morning.

Clear skid marks could be seen on the road while a VW badge was found within the vicinity.

A case of culpable homicide will be investigated by Richards Bay SAPS.
