Growing a future with food gardens
Schools stand a chance to win funding by simply presenting the story of their food garden.
School food gardens promote teachings about our food system through outdoor education while building food-resilience in under-resourced areas.
Local schools that have been growing and creating their own gardens are invited to enter the EduPlant competition and stand a chance of winning R435 000 worth of prizes, resources and funding.
The EduPlant programme champions the promotion of sustainable farming through school-based workshops.
These gardens supplement feeding schemes while educating learners on climate change and natural vegetable production.
